Can Pro-Kabaddi pick up as IPL did?

Hello all!! This is Suven Jagtiani writing this article. I am a big fan of cricket and as I live in India, it's obvious that I even love the IPL. Such has been the magic of IPL ,that for some it is just a cricket match, for some it's like this:

And for some, IPL is even their bread and butter:(match-fixing)

But, as the IPL was getting older and older, getting some wrinkles on it's face(allegations of match-fixing), it's small brother named the Pro kabaddi league took birth in 2014. 

AND BOOOM!! 

1st season Pro kabaddi league:

1. 552 million viewers(Not a joke!)
2. 11 huge sponsors!!
3. 70 crores ad revenue!!

All these stats are not as huge as the stats of IPL but then too for a league to generate such great numbers for the 1st season and for a sport which is not too popular at the global level is a big thing.

Why this popularity?

I used to ask my grand mother about how kabaddi was played (before PKL started) but now my grand mother asks me the score of the pro kabaddi matches. Such has been the change.

1)The most important reason for the popularity is kabaddi itself. Players catching each other's legs, them falling on each another , jumping, running wildly...............

This is what our young generation needs.

2) Secondly, the way STAR SPORTS presented  kabaddi was amazing. Kabaddi, which was played on muddy grounds with some lines was now being played on attractive mats and arenas. This made Kabaddi look a very rich sport, isn't it?

So, will PRO KABADDI beat IPL ?

I am not sure about PKL beating IPL in terms of popularity or revenue but it would surely come on par with IPL in the next 5-6 years. Even stats show this.  

"There has been an average 40% viewership growth season after season"

So, with this great stat, it is obvious that even Pro kabaddi is going to touch the 1000 million viewership mark in this season (5th season) or the next season. And, with more viewership obviously comes more revenue :)

So, can PRO-KABADDI pick up in India as IPL did?(I think you can answer this now!)
