Is getting into IIT's really difficult or just a hype?

Keep calm and get into IIT

Hello all!! This is Suven Jagtiani writing this article. I am a KID who is really passionate about getting into one of the IIT's. But you all know how we Indians are, we make things ,especially exams, such a big hype that for student the exam becomes everything, but what after that exam? So, in this article we will uncover the answer to the question, that are the JEE exams really very difficult or just a hype created by us and the so called 'coaching classes'.

So, for uncovering the answer I took the help of one of the most performing IIT'ian from IIT Bombay and I took an interview with him.[A must read interview]

1] Is there anything special that a student has to do to get into IIT's?

>>You just have to be motivated and persevere through out your preparation time. It may sound easy but even the best of the lot may falter sometime. Over the years, as the coaching system intensified, it has just come down to one's hard work and sadly not to one's interest or intellectual capability.

2] How is studying in IIT's different from studying in any other institute?

>>IITs are institutes of utmost National importance. Although they have failed to boost India's secondary sector like they were initially envisioned and still face a lot of criticism for the same, but they have the potential to lead India's growth over the coming years. Likewise, the money invested in IITs matches the standard of expectations instilled upon them. Needless to say, the facilities provided by IITs are more or less better than other institutes (except housing).
'Also the ecosystem of IITs provides you with the interaction with some of the best minds of the country.'
They also give you the opportunity to experience the cultural fabric of the country, a place where people from different parts of the country come together with just their intellectual capability and quality of perseverance in common.

3] Does a student have to join a coaching class for cracking the JEE exams(if yes, then WHY)?

>>There are students who have cracked IITs without being a part of coaching program, but I personally feel that it is unwise to do that. Coaching institutes provide you with a pre-laid structure which is tried and tested over the years. Trying to create a path of your own may develop your skills at a personal level but may reduce your JEE rank by a significant margin.

4] From what age a student must start preparing for IIT's?

>>It is advised to start preparing at least from your std. 11. You may start early to get the initial lead but try to make a more informed decision while choosing your stream and don't just become a sheep and start preparing for JEE.

5] And, at the end, IS GETTING INTO IIT'S VERY DIFFICULT OR JUST A HYPE?

>>It is difficult, but the level of difficulty is relative. But there is nothing one can not achieve with proper guidance and perseverance.

6] What message do you want to leave for our future IITians which can help them do better??
[And he told me this!]

>>
Hard work beats talent.

So, this is what the interview was all about.
The above interview could just be an interview for many but it can turn out to be a learning curve for some others who have a dream of getting into the IIT's.

SO, WHAT DO YOU THINK, 'Is getting into IIT's really difficult or just a hype?'[Hope you can answer this now!!]

THANK YOU!!
